Neath Port Talbot Carers Service provides breaks to carers age 18+ residing in Neath Port Talbot. Prioritising new carers, those with a substantial caring role and those from under-represented groups namely male carers, carers of people with dementia, LTGBQ+ and Minoritised Ethnic Communities carers.
A short break from the challenges that carers face helps them to continue providing care to their loved one. Short breaks can be undertaken with or without the cared for person. A sitting service for the person in receipt of care can be provided to enable access/participation.
This scheme focusses on the uniqueness of each carer, and through meaningful and supportive conversation, ensures people have access to personalised break options that can support them into education/training, engagement in employment, health and wellbeing, and leisure.
This grant is open to any unpaid carer aged over 18 years of age living within Neath Port Talbot County. To apply for the grant simply call Neath Port Talbot Carers Service and a member of staff will be able to assist.
