The Time for Me project supports unpaid carers who have not had a recent break from their caring role. NEWCIS operates this project across Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham, and across South East Wales, in Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly and Newport. With respite available through the Bridging the Gap Scheme, carers can have their break with other family members or on their own they can, giving choice, flexibility and opportunities to look after their own mental/physical wellbeing.
The range of breaks will include:

Bridging the Gap Gwent (BTGG) provides unpaid carers with flexible, responsive breaks from their caring role. Eligible carers can choose from a brochure of a services to ensure the break meets their needs, from leisure memberships and outdoor activities, to domestic and sitting services.
BTGG is offered to carers who meet criteria for the service following a Carers Needs Assessment with their local authority.
Unpaid Carers will have a ‘What Matters’ conversation to access the Bridging the Gap scheme. They are then allocated a voucher to access short breaks/respite in Denbighshire when they most need it.
